The Permian Basin is a made of sedimentary rock and is located in the western part of Texas and the southeastern part of the New Mexico in the United States. It is called the Permian Basin because it has one of the world’s thickest deposits of rocks from the Permian geologic period. The Permian Basin is home to a large oil and natural gas producing area.
